ONA members fight in the street with time we don’t have for causes we shouldn’t have to. This is all while we keep our heads up and work jobs few would have the mettle to.

F-Word is our outlet for expression. It’s the place where we share, fight back, celebrate and lift each other up.

It’s a living publication where we reveal the truth about our sectors and where we get to say what nurses and health-care workers can’t anywhere else.

Here you will find in-depth articles about nursing, labour issues and the political landscape. As a regularly updated, online-only source for information, F-Word always has something new and gives us space to speak our minds.

A new format for a changing industry

For 17 years, our award-winning Front Lines magazine told the stories of nursing and health care in Ontario and shared wins from ONA across our province. We released the final print issue of Front Lines in Fall 2024.

It was a valuable resource, but times have changed. The world of information sharing is shifting, and ONA news must do the same. You told us you wanted a more flexible, accessible and dynamic way to stay connected and share your experiences. So, we created F-Word.

F-Word will continue to deliver the quality of content you’ve come to expect from Front Lines. In fact, the digital platform will allow us to provide this content in a much timelier fashion than a print publication, with a wider array of accompanying visuals.

If you miss the print edition, you can still access recent issues of Front Lines below.
