Sexism in nursing

Sexism is alive and well in nursing.

How is it that a male nursing colleague is permitted to act as manager and stay in the union?

This position was given to him by the male director of our program. Not a posted position. Of course they gave him a fancy new title, but there he sits in the manager’s office.

Very disheartening.

Note: Members in similar situations should speak with your Bargaining Unit President to determine if the arrangement complies with your collective agreement. Find out who that is here.
