Members flock to F-Word pop-up

The F-Word table before the crowds displaying promotional items, a Vent box, monitor and signs.

The F-Word table is captured during the calm before the storm to show its many offerings. During breaks and lunches, the table was swarmed with members wanting to learn about F-Word, pick up a unique promotional item and submit a Vent.

When it comes to f-words, this one had them in spades.

Making its debut at the March Provincial Coordinators Meeting (PLM), a large gathering of ONA leaders and members in downtown Toronto, our F-Word table was the source for, well, all things F-Word.

At the table, which joined other tables staffed by ONA teams and our vendors, communications staff walked members through the F-Word site on a large monitor, answered questions and handed out promotional items displaying the bold F-Word logo, including an oh-so-popular stylus pen.

Staff and Board members also encouraged members, many proudly wearing their F-Word t-shirts, to provide a submission during the meeting – either positive or negative – to the Vent section of F-Word, a truly unique place where members can anonymously let off steam about pretty much anything (the F-Word Team reviews each submission to remove any identifiers and ensure you’re safe). And members certainly did, many of which you will be reading on F-Word in the weeks to come.

But you don’t have to be at an ONA provincial meeting to submit a Vent; you can do so anytime here.

“There’s nothing like F-Word out there,” one member told us at the table. “I hope F-Word wins all the awards; it deserves to,” said another. Yet another simply remarked, “I love F-Word!”

The F-Word table will be sticking around for upcoming meetings, such as Provincial Coordinators Meetings and Biennial Conventions. If you’re around, come check us out!
