Deceptive

Graphic that reads,

An August 27, a College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) news release said that a total of 197,020 nurses renewed their registration in 2026, representing a net gain of 6,124 nurses, or a 3.2 per cent increase from the previous year.

I heard this on the radio a few times. What a misleading statistic!

Just because nurses are registering with the CNO does NOT mean they’re practising nurses! I personally haven’t worked for more than a year (by choice) and I renewed my CNO registration.

Also, there are nurses working in other provinces/countries that renew their CNO annually. Plus, I know nurses who only work a handful of shifts in a year that renew their registration.

This statistic is soooooo misleading to the general public!
