No closure

The closure of supervised consumption sites in our community has had a terrible snowball effect.
Not only have we seen an increase in overdose deaths, which is tragic enough, but we’ve seen an increase in violent attacks on staff members working with this population. Public buildings that offer multiple community services are now experiencing unsafe situations, as this has become the go-to place for individuals who used to access supervised consumption sites.
Used drug paraphernalia, human feces and garbage in shared public spaces and clinic areas are creating unsafe environments for our ONA members.
Bring back our supervised consumption sites!
