Psychological warfare

Here’s my F-word from management: Friday afternoon special.
This is a regular occurrence.
HR instructs the manager to briefly contact a nurse late Friday afternoon to say, “appointment made for you next week with HR and manager; bring a union rep.” No other details are given.
Of course, when the nurse calls back to the manager or HR, everyone has left for the weekend. The nurse has to sit and worry all weekend what it could be about.
Fast forward to the meeting with the manager, HR, nurse and union rep. The meeting is often some unfounded patient complaint. For example, my call bell wasn’t answered quickly enough, nurse wasn’t friendly, etc.
Nothing usually comes of it. This is psychological warfare towards nurses. Keep the nurses submissive. Also, gaslighting!
HR usually says, “why would you think it’s something bad?” HR is told they shouldn’t do this to nurses; however, it continues.
Sad way to treat good people.
