F-Word wins North American award

A woman points to her bucket hat, which reads F-Word.

Point taken! ONA member Jessica shows off the F-Word bucket hat she received at our Provincial Coordinators Meeting in June, not long before ONA’s F-Word digital magazine won an Apex Award for Publication Excellence.

Thanks to members sharing your powerful stories and Vents with us, your F-Word digital magazine has recently won an award.

In July, F-Word received an Apex Award of Excellence, which recognizes “exceptional entries” in each of its 100 categories. F-Word was honoured in the Magazines, Journals and Tabloids – Electronic category.

In its 38th year, the Apex Awards are open to North American communicators in non-profit, corporate and independent settings. The awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the success of the entry – in the opinion of the judges – in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence. This year’s judges noted that the high caliber of the submissions, which totalled more than 1,000, made selecting the winners extremely difficult. ONA has won many Apex Awards over the years.

Our 2025 Biennial Report, which covered the impressive work of ONA and our members from the previous two years and was distributed at our Biennial Convention last November, was also acknowledged in the Annual Reports – Print category.
