Recently, I’ve become very loud about the workplace safety concerns my team is facing, with 12 to 13 patients on our day/night shift per staff, scheduling and payroll issues and absent management.
And now I’m under fire.
My ONA team has had my back during this process and while I have become the target, my actions have made my coworkers feel safer to speak up. Action is scary, but necessary.
I will make them make us a priority. I will make them make patient safety and quality care a priority.
I will not be silenced with fear.
