Truth and consequences

The following message was sent to F-Word by a concerned citizen, who requested that her name not be used.

My son, like many other children from Windsor-Essex, depends on Children’s Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC).

In fact, Windsor-Essex families make roughly 200 visits per week to LHSC for our children’s hospital care.

The planned nursing cuts there are, quite frankly, terrifying for my family and many others. The nurses there are incredible. They’re highly trained in paediatrics and to lose them will be devastating and dangerous. There are already not enough.

To know we’re potentially going to lose highly trained nurses and have them replaced with individuals who don’t have that same training isn’t OK, and the consequences will be felt heavily.
