Nothing changes

Card says,

Working in long-term care in a for-profit nursing home in a growing community has been exhausting and very stressful.

Our employer listens to us about the impossible workloads, but nothing changes and more and more is expected each shift. We don’t even have a secured front entrance.

Nurses are running around caring for dozens of residents at a time AND locking and unlocking entrances for staff, residents and visitors.

We’re expected to supervise, manage, act as maintenance and housekeepers, and our employer constantly struggles to pay us correctly.

We keep coming back for more because we care about our fellow coworkers and our residents. We’re a family.

Too bad the owners never see what we do.
